Wyclef`s Weapon Of Choice Is His Music

Sept. 7, 2010: Haitian-born, Grammy Award-winning singer Wyclef Jean continues to use his music as a weapon to slam at his critics and people he felt has wronged himJean on Friday night, September 3rd, used his performance at Hot 97`s On the Reggae Tip Concert in New York City to slam former Fugees team mate, Pras and Hollywood actor Sean Pen. Performing a re-make of his 2004 song, `President,` at the concert, Jean sang: `I got a message for Sean Penn/ Maybe he ain`t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine/ I got a message for Praswell/ Even though you don`t want to support me/ I got love for you/Even though you only kicked 8 bars in the Fugees.`Sean, 50, and former Fugees bandmate Pras, 37, had criticized Wyclef`s highly publicized bid and subsequent forced withdrawal from the Haitian presidential race, the 40-year-old Yeacute;le Haiti Foundation.The performance came a night after a cancelled a performance at the annual West Indian American Day Carnival benefit concert for his foundation and on the heels of a new song which criticized the President of Haiti and the Election Council in Haiti for refusing to approve his bid to run for President of Haiti. The Council had ruled that Jean does not qualify to run since he has not lived in Haiti for five consecutive years.
